(zuur = sour, deeg = dough).
"Leip zuurdeeg" (crazy/odd sourdough) is sometimes used for a person
talking nonsense or behaving a tad erratic.
Some Dutch and Americans have "Zuurdeeg" as their
family name.
The word "zuurdesem" is used as an alternative to zuurdeeg.
In Germany "sauerteig" is used (sauer = sour, teig = dough).
